GIRL WITH GOLDEN FISH

Influenced by Picasso’s period of cubism, and surrealism and De Kooning’s abstract expressionism,  M. Solorzano paints biomorphic shapes. She is great at ambiguously blending figure and ground in her pictures while dismembering, re-assembling and distorting her figures in the process.

In this painting we see a young woman with big bright eyes, holding a golden fish that symbolizes her femininity.  She is standing in the middle of red flowers that symbolizes the sweet scent and mysteries of a woman.

The colors are bright yet they blend well together giving the viewer a sence of calmness and confidence.
